How to Peel Garlic in Seconds

Garlic

I hate peeling garlic but I love to use it when I cook. A while back on the radio I heard about a method for peeling garlic that takes mere seconds. Now I don’t have to struggle I just shake.

First take your head of garlic and break apart the cloves and put them in a metal pot.

Unpeeled Garlic

Next put the lid on the pot and then shake that pot and bounce the garlic up and down for 10 to 20 seconds.

Completely Peeled Garlic in seconds.

When you open it up you will be greeted with whole peeled garlic! It couldn’t be easier.

Now that you have some fresh peeled garlic you need something to do with it check out these great garlic filled recipes:

Did you figure that out yourself? I, much like you, use garlic in EVERYTHING. If it calls for 2 cloves I use 4, I am used to the smashing it with the side of the knife blade. I will try this !

I actually heard it on the radio, probably NPR. A friend who read this pointed out that you can do it with a mason jar too so I tried it with an old tomato sauce jar and it worked like a charm.
