The Muppets New Movie is a Must See
After a 12 year hiatus The Muppets are back! My family and I were given the opportunity to see a screening of The Muppets yesterday. Walking in I had some concerns, as I always do when things from my childhood are redone, but it was fantastic! The Muppets was everything that a Muppet Movie should be; cheesy, funny, musical and full of cameos. Jason Segel and Amy Adams were great alongside their puppeted cast members and provided a kitschy vibe that helped seal the deal. Both kids and adults were laughing hysterically. There were cameos from Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Silverman, Selena Gomez, Jack Black and literally tons of others.
The movie starts out with, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, his brother Gary (Jason Segel) and Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, heading to LA. There they discover that oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) is planning to raze the long Muppet Theater and drill for the oil. The only way to save the theater is to stage a telethon and raise $10 million. Walter, Gary and Mary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs in Reno with the Moopets (a Muppet tribute band), Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion at Vogue in Paris, Animal is in an anger management clinic, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
We really loved it. You can see the The Muppets when it opens in theaters on November 23rd.
