Pausing to Reflect

The homeschooling resource center that my kids go to had their pausing ceremony this week. It’s a time for everyone in the community to get together, for the kids to perform something if they wish and a time to say “see ya later” to the older teens who are moving on to other things. The teens lampooned Rebekah Black’s Friday my kids sang a song with a good friend. I’m amazed every year how they will just go up on stage, in front of one hundred or more people and just sing their hearts out with no nervousness or apprehension.

Singing away.

In the barn were works by various kids that had been completed throughout the year both at and away from the resource center. There was a mural done by the younger kids, a rocketry display by some of the older ones and even a beautiful chess board that was made in the wood shop by one of the teens.

We don’t actually pause for the summer because we believe learning takes place all the time but it’s nice to look back at the previous years work, pause and reflect.
