Building the Greenhouse – Part 1

[ad name=”Amazon Patio Lawn and Garden”]

We’ve been busy all weekend working on a greenhouse for our deck. We live in a contemporary with very little space inside the house. We have a large yard and nice deck though. Every year I struggle with the starts and where to put them. I sit them on the kitchen table then they move to the living room then the bedroom and back to the kitchen table. They never have a safe consistent place to sit.

Geraniums waiting for the greenhouse. So this year we decided to put a greenhouse up on our deck. It will be made of PVC piping and semi free standing but attach to the house on two sides. On one of those side’s there’s a large window and on the other side a set of sliding doors so we can open it an let the heat of the house out into the greenhouse if necessary.

We’ve got the entire thing all framed and we’re just waiting for our Snap Clamps to get here to put the plastic on. Hopefully by this time next week I’ll have my starts sitting in our very own greenhouse.
