Every year for the last 3 years we have gone camping at Assateague National Seashore with several other families. This year was our largest group yet with 8 families spread out over 5 campsites.
We camp, have fires on the beach and generally get to forget about the world beyond the dunes. After 3 years we have camping here down to a science and amazingly no skirmishes over tent setup occurred.
The girls played in the surf and once a few brave dads jumped into the ocean Harmonic Papa and I joined in too. Except for HP loosing his glasses and the mad rush to go get new ones it was a woderfully relaxing weekend.
One lesson we did learn this year is to check your gear fully before leaving. When we went to cook dinner the first night

we found that some creature, most likely a mouse, had decided that our camping stove would be the perfect place to build a home. All of the kids gathered around to check out the nest and see what it was made of.
