A huge step back for women.

“That’s not change. That’s just calling the same thing something different. But you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change, and it’s still going to stink after eight years.”

The quote above was a statement made by Barrack Obama during a speech in regards to the McCain camp’s sudden switch to a campaign of change.  The McCain camp is up in arms accusing Obama of calling Sarah Palin a pig due to her well quoted comment about lipstick being the difference between a soccer mom and a pit bull.  If Obama was calling Palin a pig then he was calling McCain an old fish, which besides being true, no one is getting up in arms about.  I am frustrated with how small steps taken forward by women are so quickly wiped away.  What is Palin too fragile to take an insult?  too weak?  She is just a mere woman, please leave her be.  The fact that the McCain campaign would jump to defend this poor defenseless woman, irritates the hell out of me.  She should stand up on her own and rebut Obama.  Here it is ladies, if we’re gonna play, we have to hit the hard balls too!
