Thank GOD!

The origial call to action stated:

TELL HASBRO TO STOP MARKETING SEXUALIZED DOLLS TO LITTLE GIRLS

The marketing assault on our children continues. Hasbro Toys, makers of “Candyland” and ” Mr. Potato Head” has entered into a deal to produce and market — to girls as young as six — a line of dolls based on the highly sexualized girl group, the Pussy Cat Dolls. The group’s recent hit “Don’t Cha,” includes lyrics such as “don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me, don’t cha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me…”

Join us and our coalition partners, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood and Dads and Daughters, in a letter writing campaign to stop Hasbro.
Let us stand together to protect our children

The sexualization of girls is getting worse and worse. I swear I can’t find a pair of shorts for my three year old that are not Daisy Duke ish or a skirt that goes below her knees that’s not four sizes too big. Our children will grow up fast enough there is no need to push them into adulthood. I see nothing wrong with sexuality or being sexual I just thing that it needs to wait until are children are old enough to understand it and I do see a difference between a person being sexy/sexual and a person being objectified by sexuality. It is this sublty that will be missd by the children that these dolls are marketed to.
