Painting again

Front from an angle

In our new house our attic is very large and would lend itself well to painting. Sage is getting older and can nurse less frequently and my mind has been turning to painting again. I have always been facinated by various forms of fertility figures across many cultures. Maybe it’s because they are usualy chubby, like me, I’m not sure. Since I have become a mother though I identify even more with them and I think once I start painting agin I will do a series on fertility, pregnancy etc…. For the first time in a long time I am excited about the prospect of drawing/painting/being creative again. It would be even better if I could sell some of my work but that’s not the point.

I think that I will start sketching again and getting some ideas on paper. I am hesitant to use terpintine in my attic with it’s old electrical wiring so my work might be in acrylic (not a big fan of acrylic but it beats burnin’ down the house). I purchased some small canvases on e-bay not to long ago so all I need to do is find the time.

Pregnancy and motherhood does help to bring out the creativity again doesn’t it? I have been itching to get creative again too. Don’t have room for anything here though, except maybe a desk for doing some scrapbooking when Abby officially graduates to her crib and we can move her bassinet… You should post some pics of your work when you get started! I would love to see what you come up with!
    Hugs!

It’s almost like the less time you have the more creative you want to be!
